The Old Rectory Inn, Callander
The Old Rectory Whisky Library was launched 2009. The cosy bar area within Gray's Restaurant has been redesigned and renamed "The Whisky Library". Uisge Beatha, the Water of Life, is Scotland's national drink and it is synonymous with Scotland in our visitor's minds. It also perfectly complements our menu which is unashamedly based on all that is best with Scotland's produce.
As part of our involvement in VisitScotland's Year of Food and Drink we pushed on with our development of the Whisky Library. We have one of the largest collections in the area, featuring many rare and unusual types of malt as well as the more popular drams.
Our Collection: We went from 40 malts to over 140, added more books, and began our Annual Whisky Festival, in November of 2010, introduced some classic and hard-to-find bottled Scottish beers and encouraged our guests to try the fabulous wines from Perthshire's Cairn o'Mhor winery. All this to the backdrop of regular Scottish folk music live in the Library just for you. Check out our Facebook Page for the dates of our next Whisky Festival.
Glengoyne Distillery is one of the local distilleries and has one of the leading premium malt whiskies in the world. This award winning distillery is located near Loch Lomond close to Glasgow and offers Tours, Masterclasses, Whisky Tastings, Meetings and Private Dining. If you cant make it in person, there is an on-line shop for Special Bottlings, Personalised Bottles and Collectables.

Guests quote: "The Old Rectory is a fantastic wee place... from the moment you walk in you feel like you've known them for years. Everything is first class, from the accommodation to the staff to the fantastic food. I feel like I shouldn't be saying this as I should keep this gem of a place to myself. You would have to be very very hard to please not to like it here. Can't wait to return." Reviewed by Margaret Jamieson from Shotts.
