Fern Cottage is a charming two bedroom self-catering cottage at the West end of Loch Tay. In the popular village of Killin, close to the famous Falls of Dochart. The cottage sleeps up to four with double and twin bedrooms and a family bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped, A separate dining room with views towards the river. There is a comfortable lounge television, DVD player and log-fire. Logs are provided. Free WiFi is available throughout. Outside there is a small garden area with table, chairs and BBQ.

Guests are only a short walk from local restaurants and shops, including a small supermarket. Popular sights such as the famous Falls of Dochart, the Old Watermill (now a Visitor Information Centre) and Finlarig Castle ruins. You can access the Route 7 National Cycle Network nearby.

There is a local 9-hole golf course, and the area is popular with hill walkers, who can reach a number of munros; Ben Lawers, Ben More, Ben Vorlich are all a short distance away from Killin. Loch Tay is only only a short drive away, where you can enjoy fishing and sailing, and the village of Kenmore, where you will find Taymouth Castle and the Crannog Centre.

Killin is located on the edge of the Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park If you are a nature lover Ben Lawers is popular to visitors wanting to see the alpine and arctic flora as well as the local wildlife. The Tarmachan Ridge and Lawers Range can be clearly seen from the main street of the village. There are a host of events held annually, locally the popular Killin Agricultural Show and the Killin Highland games attracts visitors from around the world.

Killin is a popular destination for winter sports. Hill walking brings many visitors to the area. When the weather permits you can see people skiing too. Glen Coe is just an hours drive away for the more ambitious skier. Deer stalking continues throughout the winter and can be arranged locally. If you can brave the weather, you can fish for salmon from 15th January when the salmon fishing season opens.

If you are visiting during the New Year period you must not miss the spectacular display of fireworks held in the Breadalbane Park, Killin.

If you need a wee dram to warm you on a cold winters day you can visit Dewars World of Whisky at Aberfeldy or Glenturett 'The Famous Grouse' Scotlands oldest whisky distillery, home to the Glenturret Highland single malt.
