Cardney Bothy self-catering cottage is located at historic Glengyle on Loch Katrine. Glengyle was the birthplace of Rob Roy MacGregor. It has breathtaking views of the surrounding hills including Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi and Ben Venue. Nearby leisure facilities offer a wide range of activities, including watersports, walking and cycling. The villages of Callander and Aberfoyle are all within easy reach and have a range of pubs, restaurants and shops.

Warm and cosy all year round Cardney Bothy is a detached one-bedroom cottage that has been renovated and furnished to modern 4 star standards whilst respecting its wonderful historic location. Internally it has solid hardwood flooring and all the modern comforts you could need including its own parking area. Just bring yourself and your supplies. Cardney's rental rates include your heating and electricity cost, it also has the follwing facilities: ~ Television ~ Washer/dryer, Fridge/small freezer ~ Microwave oven, Toaster and kettle ~ Dishwasher & Electric oven and Hob ~ All Bedding and Towels Good News, no WiFi! Cardney Bothy is the perfect retreat for those looking for a complete escape from the stresses of the modern life as it does not have Wifi. If you feel you must explore the internet, nearby Stronachlachar Pier has a wonderful Cafe/Restaurant where you can enjoy a quality coffee or glass of wine in front of the wood burning stove. A little further on is the historic Byre Inn at Brig O Turk and of course Callander and Aberfoyle or both within a 30 minute drive. At nearby Inversnaid is the Top Bunk Bistro which is also worth checking out. "No light pollution here": Our starry skies make this a perfect location for 'Star Gazing' and you can't help but feel rejuvenated by breathing in our clear unspoiled country air. Don't fancy driving, but want to get out? Rather than a bus service the area has a taxi service called "Demand Responsive Transport". Here you can book a taxi, but only pay the cost of a bus fare! Literally just down the road is Loch Lomond, Inversnaid Pier and part of the West Highland Way. You can either cycle there, walk or drive and park up and take the Loch Lomond Water Bus to the other side of the loch. Guests can also rent bikes from the Trossachs pier and the Sir Walter Scott Steamship makes daily trips across Loch Katrine. Lock Katrine are perfect for taking Great Photographs: Whether you are a keen amateur or a seasoned photographer you will love the ever changing light, colours, view and our light pollution free skies. You may even spot the elusive red squirrel and other iconic wildlife. The Trossachs are also a "Twitchers Delight".
