Your Host : Jan & Richard
Originally a farm worker's bothy, Cedar Cottage is now owned by Jan and Richard who have lived there since 1985. It is attached to their home, (so should you need assistance) they are close by. Alternatively, if you want complete peace and quiet you will have all the privacy you need. They manage the property themselves and are able to ensure their pricing remains sensible.

The Annexe consists of a hall, Living/Dining/Kitchen. 1 twin bedroom (or if you prefer super-kingsized bed)but do advise on the book form or by phone). The bathroom has a bath, a walk in shower cubicle, wash-hand basin, toilet and washing machine. There is a galleried reading area and access to this is via a steep, narrow, open tread, ladder style stair. Our guests have their own private south facing decked area with countryside views.

"No light pollution here": Our starry skies make this a perfect location for 'Star Gazing' and you feel rejuvenated by breathing in our clear unspoiled country air.

Pause for paws!. Don't worry about leaving your loved ones behind as we welcome all pets. We only ask that they are not left alone in the house unsupervised and that if you do return with muddy paws & boots you clean them off outside.

There are shops and pubs locally and we are about a 10 to 15 minute drive away from Gartmore, Drymen, Balfron, Buchlyvie and Aberfoyle and the historic Dukes Pass with its 3 lochs drive.

Tackling Ben A'an on The Dukes Pass: Not quite a Munro but a perfect little Mountain for those who want a challenge. Always check weather conditions on the MWIS website and take good walking boots, layers, waterproofs and a packed lunch for the top. With binoculars on a clear day you should be able to spot Stronachlachar Pier and its great cafe at the other end of Loch Katrine.

Another great day out is driving to Stronachlachar. Here you can watch the SS Sir Walter Scott berthing and have a bite to eat in the Pier Tea Room which is literally on Loch Katrine. You get there driving via Aberfoyle and Kinlochard. From Stronachlachar it is only a short drive to Inversnaid on Loch Lomond.

A Great Location: Our central location means that Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth and Fort William are all within easy reach.
