Doune Castle 1
Built for Regent Albany, Doune Castle is a magnificent late 14th century courtyard Castle. Its most striking feature is a keepgatehouse which includes the splendid restored Duke's Hall with its musicians' gallery, double fireplace & carved oak screen. There is a nature trail in the castle grounds, with wildflower meadows & woodlands rich in wildlife & birdlife. Monty Python & the Holy Grail was filmed here. The audio tour (included in the admission fee) features the voice of Terry Jones, its co-director.

The Falkirk Wheel is one of Scotland's top tourist destinations and attracts visitors from all across the World. The wheel was assembled in 2001 to transport boats between the Roughcastle Tunnel and the Union Canal. A special experience for the whole family and friends are the boat tours offered. Also available as venue for weddings, corporate events and parties, the visitor centre can accommodate up to 300 guests for food and drinks. Also educational programmes for groups and school classes available.

Inchmahone Priory on a cold winters day
Set on an island in the Lake of Menteith, Inchmahome is an idyllically-situated Augustinian monastery dating from 1238. Much of the 13th century building remains. Rich in wildlife, the woodlands are carpeted in wildflowers. 3 Spanish chestnuts on the island are listed in Scotland's top 100 trees. Access can only be gained by boat. Follow the signs and make your way to the Jetty. Attract the boat by turning the signal post around so the white side faces the water. Don't forget your camera as you will truly be rewarded with some wonderful shots.

Inveraray Castle has been standing on the shores of Loch Fyne since the 1400s. Nowadays the Castle has an additional third floor and conical roofs on the corner towers. The inside provides a fascinating historical insight into one of Scotland's most famous castles and visitors can admire a compilation of paintings and artefacts and a Clan Room devoted to Clan Campbell.
